2024 Annual Membership Meeting and Election Results
The 2024 Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 9, 6 PM, at Evangelo's Restaurant in Wasilla. We encourage you to follow us on one of our social media networks for the latest details.
Board of Directors Election
As a credit union, we are a financial cooperative that is owned by its members, not stockholders. Because of this distinction, each member, regardless of the size of their account, has one vote in electing a volunteer Board of Directors. This ensures that your credit union’s focus on your financial interest is not lost.
There are three (3) positions open for the 2024 MVFCU Board of Directors election being held April 3 through May 3. As a Credit Union, we offer our members two convenient methods to cast their ballots: Online and Paper.
Voting online takes just a few minutes and saves the membership thousands of dollars in printing and mailing expenses! To learn how to cast your online ballot, visit www.mvfcu.coop/votenow.
If you prefer a paper ballot, you can request one at any MVFCU Community Office. All ballots must be received by the end-of-day on May 3, 2024.
Election results will be announced at the 2024 Annual Membership Meeting. Results will also be posted in each community office on May 10, 2024. There will be no nominations from the floor at the membership meeting.

Amy Roberts
(Incumbent)
I have been a member of MVFCU since I was a little girl and to this day am exceedingly proud to say I am a member of this great organization. Over the past 6 years it has been an amazing experience to help guide and oversee our Credit Union as it continues to grow and expand services to our Alaska and Hawaii communities. It would be a great honor to continue serving our community and MVFCU members for another term as Director.
I grew up in Palmer and love our town/community so much that my husband and I built our home and raised our children here as well. For the past 26 years, I have had the honor and pleasure of teaching MSBSD students.
MVFCU Board Member since 2018
DAVID COMBS
(Incumbent)
It has been such a privilege to serve on the MVFCU Board of Directors for the past 3 terms. Getting to learn about the inner workings of an amazing co-op has made me appreciate our local Credit Union so much more. I’d like to continue to serve the members with my business and community expertise and knowledge base to help continue to move the Credit Union forward.
Professionally, I have worked at Combs Insurance Agency, Inc. since 2002. My community involvement has included serving as Palmer High School Baseball Coach from 2003 - 2022, on the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce Board as President/Past President from 2009 – 2016, the Palmer Little League Board of Directors as President since 2011, the 907 Baseball Board of Directors as Vice President from 2022 and the Matanuska Electric Association Bylaws Committee since 2014.
I was born and raised in Palmer and currently live there with my wife Sabrena and our two young sons. I love everything our community has to offer and enjoy being part of its growth and planning for the future. I enjoy volunteering for various groups, especially local baseball organizations, which I’ve helped to expand to more of our communities’ youth over the last couple of decades.
MVFCU Board Member since 2012
LOREN CRAWFORD
It’s important to me to add value to each organization that I belong to. One way I bring value is acquiring accurate, relevant information for decision-makers, so they can make prudent decisions at every level of their organization. As Manager of Regulatory Affairs at TDX Power, I keep four rural utilities out of trouble by actively promoting compliance with tariffs, laws, and regulations, and keeping customers satisfied. By knowing what information was relevant, and presenting it in a digestible format, at ENSTAR Natural Gas Company I added value during gas purchase negotiations and to managers so they could meet budget goals.
As an Economist, and editor of the Revenue Sources Book at the Alaska Department of Revenue, I educated Alaska State leaders regarding their financial outlook. I’ve also taught as an adjunct professor at UAA. I gained a ground-level perspective of a credit union as a teller during my college years.
As prior President and Finance Committee Chair of the North Lakes Community Council, I successfully led the members through prudent decision-making processes. I’ve been a member of MVFCU for over a decade. I believe I’ll add value to MVFCU members as a board member by improving the information with which decisions are made.
